Premier League giants Liverpool have, on Sunday, confirmed the club’s 2nd major signing of the summer.
The latest player to have taken his talents to Anfield with a view to the 2023/24 campaign? Dominik Szoboszlai.
The name of Hungarian international Szoboszlai has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines on the red half of Merseyside across the week to date.
This comes after word was forthcoming in the media that the powers that be at Liverpool had come to the decision to activate the 22-year-old’s considerable €70 million release clause.
Amid ongoing efforts to reinforce their midfield ranks on the back of the arrival of Alexis Mac Allister, Szoboszlai, it would appear, was identified as the next piece of the puzzle by Jurgen Klopp and co.
With RB Leipzig left with no choice but to bid farewell to their up-and-coming starlet, the finer details of the transfer were quickly thrashed out.
As per an official statement across the club’s website and social media platforms:
‘Liverpool FC have completed the signing of Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig, subject to a work permit.’

Szoboszlai, as previously reported, has indeed set Liverpool back a sum of €70 million.
The one-time Red Bull Salzburg standout has put pen to paper on a five-year contract at Anfield, as well as opting for the iconic number 8 jersey previously donned by Steven Gerrard.
