Eriksen joined Manchester United as a free agent following the expiration of his six-month contract with Brentford.
Following his Brentford exit, Eriksen had a number of suitors, including his former club Tottenham.
Spurs have Champions League football in 2022/23 and are also headed up by Antonio Conte, the man Eriksen won the Serie A with in 2020/21.
As a result, the Dane opting to sign for Manchester United this summer was slightly surprising.
Nevertheless, Eriksen is now a Manchester United player and made his debut for the Red Devils on Saturday, coming off the bench in United’s 1-0 loss vs Atletico Madrid.
United may have lost the match but Eriksen looked as sharp as ever, garnering a fair bit of praise from Manchester United fans on social media.
When speaking about Eriksen recently, Anthony Elanga hinted at how impressed he was by the former Spurs star in training:
“Yeah, you can see even in training, his little touches and the way he scans around the pitch,” Elanga said. “He’s a top, top player to work with and really good to play with. You can see his quality on the pitch and I’m sure this season the fans will see more and more of him.”
Erik ten Hag also had this to say on Eriksen following his debut vs Atletico Madrid: “We know what he is able to do. With our front men he’s able to give them in the right moment the right passes, then it’s about finishing,” Ten Hag told MUTV.
