Arsenal kicked off their 2023/24 pre-season on Thursday afternoon when they faced off with German side Nurnberg.
Things did not exactly go to plan for the Gunners, as they look to bounce back from their end-of-season collapse last time out.
Bukayo Saka put Arsenal 1-0 up after seven minutes on Thursday. However, the north Londoners could not add to their lead and conceded an equaliser in the 62nd minute to draw the match.
It has since been revealed that Arsenal suffered two injuries on Thursday.
Before kick-off, club captain Martin Odegaard was withdrawn having been named in the starting line-up before picking up a knock. Fabio Vieira took his place in the team.
Arteta has also stated that Leandro Trossard is ‘struggling’ with an injury following his hour-long outing at Max-Morlock-Stadion: “[Odegaard] and Leo are struggling,” Arteta confirmed to reporters post -match.
“It’s pre-season and some of them have only had two or three training sessions so we’ll take it step by step.”
