The player in question is Jurrien Timber.
Arsenal confirmed the signing of Jurrien Timber from Ajax this past Friday.
He joins Arsenal after several impressive years with Ajax and is sure to be a key figure at the back for the Gunners in 2023/24.
Timber will wear the no.12 shirt for Arsenal and is believed to have set Arsenal back £38.5m, including add-ons, though the Gunners did not confirm the transfer fee.
Now, Stewart Robson has been discussing Arsenal’s summer signings and stated that Timber is better than people give him credit for:
“Timber is a decent centre-back,” he told ESPN. “Declan Rice is a magnificent player. He will improve Arsenal by five percent. Kai Havertz, we’d all talked about Arsenal last season not having a big enough squad. I’m not sure Kai Havertz always starts every week when Arsenal first play their opening games. But he’s a player that can certainly cause problems. He’s a good athlete. He can make things happen from midfield, or in front areas.
“Timber is a better player than people give him credit for.”
