Patino is a product of Arsenal’s youth academy and, despite earn some minutes for the Gunners’ senior side last season, he was loaned out for the 2022/23 campaign.
Patino has been sent out on loan to the Championship with Blackpool, who are having a tough start to the current campaign.
The 18-year-old was a regular fixture at the start of the season but then missed four league games due to injury.
He then returned to action off the bench vs Rotherham and was handed his first start over the weekend vs Millwall.
Blackpool lost the tie 2-1, with Patino scoring the only goal of the game for his side.
After the match, Blackpool boss Michael Appleton had this to say on the midfielder:
“I thought he brought a lot of composure to his game and did well in the middle of the park. He allowed us to play with a little bit more freedom at times, whether that’s him dropping at the base or playing higher up the pitch.
“He did tire towards the end, but you’d expect that with the amount of time he’s had out.”
Given Arsenal’s midfield issues in the 2022/23 season so far, Arsenal fans will be hopeful Patino can build on his impressive showing over the weekend ahead of a potential recall in the January transfer window.
