Arsenal are set to return to Europe’s premier competition next campaign.
The Gunners have not competed in the Champions League since the 2016/17 season and it was a campaign to forget.
The north Londoners made it out of their group but then faced Bayern Munich in the Round of 16.
Bayern beat Arsenal 5-1 in both legs, giving an aggregate total of 10-2 in favour of the German powerhouse – a scoreline Mikel Arteta will be desperate to avoid this time around.
Now, news of changes to Arsenal’s European squad has been revealed as Bukayo Saka has been moved from Arsenal’s B list to their A list.
This is because, as per UEFA rules: “A player may be registered on List B if he is born on or after 1 January 2002 and since his 15th birthday has been eligible to play for the club concerned for any uninterrupted period of two years, or a total of three consecutive years with a maximum of one loan period to a club from the same association for a period not longer than one year. Players aged 16 may be registered on List B if they have been registered with the participating club for the previous two years without interruption.”
