A bombshell twist in the long-running saga surrounding Shakhtar Donetsk star Mykhailo Mudryk has been confirmed late on Saturday evening.
Just 48 hours ago, the future of wide-man Mudryk, of course, was viewed as as good as wrapped up.
This came upon confirmation surfacing across the European media that Arsenal, the long-time frontrunners for his signature, had tabled a fresh big-money proposal for the wide-man’s signature.
A deal, in turn, was widely labelled as imminent, as Shakhtar’s hefty demands came close to being met.

Or so it seemed…
A short time ago, murmurs began to surface in England that a fresh twist may be on the cards in the race for Mudryk’s services.
And now, late on Saturday night, it would appear as though such endeavours have officially borne fruit.
As per a report from transfer expert David Ornstein, Chelsea have reached a definitive agreement with their counterparts at Shakhtar Donetsk, to bring Mudryk to Stamford Bridge this month.
The agreement is understood to be based around a base sum of €70 million, followed by a further €30 in potential add-ons.
The Ukrainian prodigy, in turn, has flown out to west London to undergo a medical with the Blues, ahead of putting pen to paper on a 7-year contract.
