Arsenal have a number of seriously impressive talents on their books right now.
The likes of Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard have proven they can compete at the highest level on a regular basis.
However, former Gunner Alex Iwobi recently singled out Reiss Nelson for praise.
Speaking on the Beautiful Game podcast, the Nigeria international claimed Nelson is a ‘joke’ in training sessions:
“He’s another Arsenal product. He’s another one in training like. He’s a joke in training. With him like, he just has that raw street ability. I have to give it to him as someone who has been patient,” Iwobi said.
“Every time he’s come on to play, he’s delivered. I think he’s been the most impactful sub. For someone to be able to do that and not play regularly and have that elite mindset, I have to rate it.”
Despite his limited outings this season, though, Nelson has still helped Arsenal in their hunt for the Premier League title. He scored two and assisted one vs Nottingham Forest and came off the bench for 21 minutes vs Bournemouth recently to score one and assist one as Arsenal fought from 2-0 down to win the match 3-2 – a result which could have major implications come the end of the season.
