Arsenal and Manchester United clashed in a pre-season friendly on Saturday.
The Gunners fielded effectively their strongest XI, barring Takehiro Tomiyasu playing at left-back and Eddie Nketiah starting up front instead of Gabriel Jesus.
The likes of Jurrien Timber, Declan Rice and Kai Havertz were all included in the starting XI, but it was not enough to beat Manchester United.
Bruno Fernandes opened the scoring after 30 minutes before Jadon Sancho made it 2-0 with 12 minutes of the match to go.
During the game, new Arsenal signing Kai Havertz received some heavy criticism.
Havertz was deployed in a midfield three alongside Rice and Odegaard against United. And his performance did not impress MUTV commentator, Ben Thornley.
“I would have just taken Havertz off because he is rubbish!” he said.
Despite receiving some heavy criticism from the United commentator, the German midfielder was given a rating of 6.6/10 by SofaScore, the third highest among Arsenal players that started the match.
