With Gabriel Jesus out injured with a knee problem once more, Mikel Arteta opted to start Kai Havertz up top vs Manchester City.
Havertz has previously played as a false nine for Chelsea and his showings were not great.
As a result, when Arsenal splashed £65m on him, there was an expectation he would be played as a no.8.
However, that did not happen on Sunday and whilst Havertz did miss a few chances he perhaps should have scored, Jamie O’Hara’s verdict on the German seems a bit harsh:
“Kai Havertz had a bit of a shocker, didn’t he? Arsenal fans, can you rely on him to take you to a title?” O’Hara said.
Whilst some were not too pleased with Havertz on Sunday, he has received a lot of love from his new teammates.
The likes of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel, Jurrien Timber and Emile Smith Rowe commented on the post with love heart emojis.
