Midfielder Brighton bound?
Albert Sambi Lokonga has emerged as a shock transfer target for Brighton and Hove Albion this summer.
A deal for Lille midfielder Carlos Baleba is proving tricky to do, and the Seagulls have identified Arsenal’s midfielder as a potential alternative to replace Moises Caicedo, who joined Chelsea last week.
As per Sky Sports, they are exploring a move for the Belgian, which would initially be on loan and would allow Lokonga a chance at regular game time in the Premier League.
Gabriel to stay
Quizzed on the future of defender Gabriel following the 1-0 win over Crystal Palace, Mikel Arteta played down fears that he could leave the club in the final weeks of the transfer window.
The Brazilian has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, but the Gunners boss insisted that his ommision from the first two starting XIs of the season was purely tactical.

Chelsea enter Balogun race
Chelsea are in discussions with Arsenal star Folarin Balogun over a potential £50m move across London this summer as they look to find more firepower to lead their line.
The London Evening Standard claim that they have identified Folarin Balogun as the man to answer their issues, with the Arsenal youngster expected to leave north London this summer and not having featured in either matchday squad so far this season.
However, it is added that ‘at this moment, it’s Monaco who are leading the race and held the most talks with Arsenal over a deal for Balogun’, though the French side too are unwilling to match Arsenal’s hefty asking price and have seen one £34m offer turned down.
The Telegraph add that ‘there is currently a big difference in valuation of the 22-year-old striker between the Blues and Arsenal’, which could scupper any move.
Tavares waiting for better offers
Defender Nuno Tavares is unlikely to move to Nottingham Forest this summer after a ‘delay in making a decision’ put off Steve Cooper’s side.
The left-back is expected to leave the club this summer and had been in discussions with Forest over a permanent move, but that now seems unlikely. Both Aston Villa and Besiktas have shown interest in the ex-Marseille loanee.
