Arsenal star Emile Smith Rowe has, on Saturday, provided an insight into his road to recovery from injury.
Versatile midfielder Smith Rowe, of course, has endured something of a nightmare campaign to date.
Owing to an ongoing groin issue, the 22-year-old has been restricted to a quartet of appearances across all competitions, totalling a measly 48 minutes on the pitch.
Smith Rowe, in turn, ultimately opted to go under the knife late in September, in a bid to solve the problem once and for all.
And now, as alluded to above, the England international – whose injury woes saw his hopes of a spot at the World Cup dashed – has provided a fresh insight into his wellbeing.
Speaking in an interview with Sky on Saturday, Smith Rowe was inevitably asked for an update on his efforts to secure a return to fitness over the months ahead.
And Smith Rowe went on to reveal that he is already ‘back on the pitch’, with his recovery ‘going well’.
As a result, the talented midfielder could well mark his comeback late in December, when the Gunners get their pursuit of Premier League glory back underway in a meeting with West Ham United.
“Hopefully [I’ll be back] by the first game after the World Cup. I’m actually out here doing rehab, today was my day off, I’m back training tomorrow. I’m back on the pitch & stuff, so it’s going well.”
