Balogun is a product of Arsenal’s academy and has spent the last year out on loan trying to garner some first-team experience.

Balogun spent the second half of 2021/22 on loan with Middlesbrough in the Championship. The striker showed clear signs of quality but was somewhat hampered by Chris Wilder’s constant chopping and changing of his two-man strike force.

For 2022/23, though, Balogun has been sent out on loan to Ligue 1 side Reims where he has become a regular feature almost instantly.

The 21-year-old came off the bench in gameweek 1 and scored as Reims fell to a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Marseille.

He then started last weekend in a 4-2 defeat vs Clermont Foot, scoring one and assisting one.

And now, on Sunday, Balogun was in from the off vs Strasbourg. Reims were forced to settle for a point but Balogun once again got himself on the scoresheet:
