Aston Villa have completed the signing of Belgian midfielder Amadou Onana from Everton.

Villa have paid a reported £50million for the 22-year-old, who has become their eighth signing of the summer.

The Villans were keen to add a new midfielder to their ranks following the departure of Douglas Luiz to Juventus last month.

Onana, a 17-cap Belgium international, will now look forward to playing in the Champions League under Unai Emery.

The former Lille midfielder earned a strong reputation from his time with Everton, making 72 appearances and scoring four goals since joining in August 2022.

He follows new signings Ross Barkley, Samuel Iling Junior, Enzo Barrenechea, Ian Maatsen, Lewis Dobbin, Cameron Archer and Jaden Philogene in completing moves to Villa Park this summer.

Winger Moussa Diaby is expected to complete a move from Villa to Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad in the coming days.
