Aston Villa star Leon Bailey is the subject of an assault investigation, according to reports late on Sunday.
The incident in question is understood to have taken place during Villa’s 4-0 Premier League drubbing of Everton earlier today.
Bailey, it is said, was approached by a fan whilst seated in the corporate boxes at Villa Park.
The Claret and Blue supporter asked the club’s talented winger to pose for a photo with his son, who was celebrating his fifth birthday.
After Bailey refused, though, the pair were involved in a heated exchange.
From here, the Jamaican international is accused of pushing the man to the ground, an action seen by a number of witnesses, as well as CCTV cameras inside Villa Park.
The fan involved is also understood to have provided a statement to the police.
Officials at Aston Villa, meanwhile, according to the Daily Mail, ‘also looking into the incident’.
