Barcelona head coach Xavi Fernandez has, on Sunday night, provided an update on the wellbeing of Sergio Busquets.
For those not aware, veteran midfielder Busquets set alarm bells ringing across the Blaugrana fanbase earlier this evening.
This came upon the Spanish international limping out of the club’s La Liga meeting with Sevilla.
Inside the opening ten minutes at the Camp Nou, Busquets went to ground in evident pain, after twisting his left foot in the turf in nasty fashion.
After being tended to by the hosts’ medical team, it was subsequently decided that the veteran Spaniard was in no fit state to continue, culminating in his departure from the action for Franck Kessie.

Speaking on an otherwise stellar evening’s work for his side, which saw Barca put Sevilla to the sword by three goals to nil, Xavi Hernandez, in turn, was asked for the latest on his former midfield partner’s situation.
Medical tests, in turn, have been pencilled in for tomorrow, at which point Xavi will discover how long he is set to be without Busquets’ talents over the weeks ahead.
Xavi: “Tests will be performed on Busquets tomorrow. He twisted his ankle. I guess he has a sprain, we’ll see how severe it is.”
