Barcelona president Joan Laporta has, on Friday, provided an insight into the future of transfer-linked Sergio Busquets.
It has of course long been rumoured that midfield icon Busquets could be primed to bring a close to his Blaugrana stint this coming summer.
This comes as Xavi Hernandez continues his efforts to usher in a new era at the Camp Nou, in a bid to reestablish his beloved club amongst the continent’s very best.
Busquets has been on the books in Catalunya for a full 14 years now, but is widely regarded as being past his brilliant best.
In turn, those in a position of power at the club have been forced to seek out a long-term replacement for the aging Spanish international.
Before then, though, a definitive decision must be made regarding whether or not Busquets is depended on for one final season.
And the Spanish patron went on to reveal that the decision has been left with Busquets himself, in responding:
‘Busquets has to decide his future, he has proposals from MLS and so we’re exploring options for the future.’
