An update on the wellbeing of Barcelona wide-man Ousmane Dembele has been provided on Friday.
French international Dembele, of course, has not featured for Barca since all the way back in January.
This comes after the 25-year-old was forced into an early departure from the club’s hard-fought La Liga victory over Girona.
Ensuing medical tests unveiled a thigh injury, bringing to a halt what had proven a fine stretch of form on Dembele’s part.
The former Borussia Dortmund standout, in turn, has since been forced to sit out all of Barcelona’s last eight outings across all competitions, an absence which proved costly en route to the Blaugrana’s exit from the Europa League at the hands of Manchester United.

As alluded to above, though, this evening, an update on Dembele’s fitness has been forthcoming.
As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, Dembele is expected to mark his return to first-team training at some point over the coming week.
His comeback could therefore come as soon as next weekend, when Xavi Hernandez’s troops make the trip to San Mames, for a showdown with Athletic Club.
Even more significantly, though, this would also mean that the explosive winger would be at the disposal of his manager for a pair of meetings with Clasico rivals Real Madrid, first in the league, and then the Copa del Rey.
Dembélé is recovering very well and will start training with the group next week. Ousmane may return for the game against Athletic Club, on March 12.
