A headline member of the first-team setup at Spanish giants Barcelona has on Saturday confirmed that negotiations have been opened between the club and his agent, over a new contract.
The Blaugrana star in question? Ousmane Dembele.
Wide-man Dembele, of course, is fresh off another injury-hampered campaign at the Camp Nou.
After showcasing flashes of his brilliant best en route to a haul of 13 assists across the 2021/22 term, the Frenchman carried his fine form into the early months of this past season, too, notching eight goals and nine assists in 35 appearances.

In turn, it came as a major blow to all associated with Barca when, late in January, a hamstring problem saw Dembele ruled out for a full three months.
Evidently, though, the one-time Borussia Dortmund sensation nevertheless did enough to convince boss Xavi Hernandez of his place in his long-term plans.
Speaking to the media whilst on international duty with Didier Deschamps’ France squad, the 26-year-old also reiterated his commitment to the Blaugrana cause, in assuring that he ‘wants to continue’ with Xavi’s men:
