Barcelona headed into the game on the back of a 5-1 win in their first group outing of 2022/23.

Bayern, though, are a top side and even without the services of Robert Lewandowski – who now plays for Barca – were expected to prove a tough test for Xavi and co.

Barcelona began the match fairly well, with Bayern sitting back and looking to counter for much of the first 45.

In the second half, however, Bayern Munich came out swinging and were 2-0 up after 54 minutes thanks to goals from Lucas Hernandez and Leroy Sane.

After netting twice vs Barca, it was revealed that Bayern had scored 16 goals from their last 30 shots on target vs the Spanish powerhouse.

The man in goal for most of those shots, including on Tuesday, was Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
