Barcelona were in action vs Mexican side Pumas UNAM, competing for the Joan Gamper Trophy.

The Spanish sided headed into the game as clear favourites and, not too surprisingly, came out 6-0 winners on the day.

One of the stars of the show for Barcelona was Pedri. The young midfielder scored two goals, including Barca’s second which was set up by Robert Lewandowski.

Lewandowski also got on the scoresheet, finding the back of the net inside three minutes. It was a great start to the striker’s Barcelona career and one that will need to continue if the club want to stand any chance of challenging Real Madrid for La Liga.

Following the game, Barcelona midfielder Pedri has revealed what it is like to play with Lewandowski:

“It’s a luxury to play with Lewandowski, I really enjoy seeing how he shoots and how he plays,” Pedri told TV3 and Barca TV.

Looking ahead to the new season, Pedri added: “We’re very excited for the start of the season. We are Barça, we are always looking for titles, especially this season.

“The president and the whole staff have done very well to bring the new signings.”
