Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski this evening etched his name into the history books of La Liga.
Barca, of course, were back in action a short time ago.
Fresh off a 2-2 stalemate with Manchester United in midweek, Xavi Hernandez’s troops turned turned their attentions back towards matters on the domestic front, hopeful of reestablishing the club’s eight-point advantage at the summit of the Spanish top-flight at the expense of relegation-battling Cadiz.
And, when all was said and done, this is precisely what the Blaugrana went on to do.
A quickfire pair of goals on the stroke of the interval, first by way of Sergi Roberto, and later the aforementioned Lewandowski, proved enough to guide the evening’s hosts to a 2-0 victory at the Camp Nou.

And, as alluded to above, in the process of putting the finishing touches on his side’s latest victory, hitman Lewandowski secured an altogether noteworthy piece of history.
The only player to have managed as much in fewer outings, altogether unsurprisingly, comes in the form of Cristiano Ronaldo.
15 – Robert Lewandowski has scored 15 goals in his first 19 LaLiga appearances, the second-fastest player to reach that number in the competition in the 21st century (Cristiano Ronaldo, 15 in 17 games in 2009/10). Lethal. pic.twitter.com/slvDAu0Drn
