German giants Bayern Munich have, on Thursday, announced the club’s first signing of the January transfer window.
The latest player to have opted to take his talents to Bavaria? Daley Blind.
For those not aware, a surprise decision regarding the future of versatile defender Blind was made late last month.
This came in the form of a mutual agreement between the 32-year-old and long-time employers Ajax, over the early termination of his contract.

Blind, in turn, entered the free agency pool, ahead of the 2nd half of the campaign.
Still capable of competing at the top level of the game, and fresh off playing a central role with the Netherlands at the Qatar World Cup, though, it came as little surprise when word was forthcoming that the veteran had already lined up a move to a new club.
And now, late on Thursday, the German champions’ sealed deal for the Dutchman has been confirmed.
As per an official statement across the club’s social media platforms:
‘FC Bayern can announce the signing of defender Daley Blind on a deal till the end of the season.’
