Match Preview & Prediction
German champions Bayern Munich have finally gotten themselves out of the mire in the Bundesliga after a 4-0 thrashing of hapless Bayer Leverkusen at the Allianz Arena last weekend, with Julian Nagelsmann’s Rekordmeister remaining on home soil when they welcome Czech champions Viktoria Plzen tomorrow night to Bavaria.
Despite their domestic concerns, Bayern has already taken control of Group C in the Champions League after wins against Inter Milan (2-0) and Barcelona (2-0), and that run of form on the continent is expected to continue against a Plzen outfit that has surrendered seven goals already in the group stage and, unfortunately, will likely continue to do nothing more than make up the numbers in what was an incredibly rough group draw for the Czech outfit.
Bayern does have a few selection concerns ahead of proceedings after Joshua Kimmich and Thomas Müller tested positive for Covid-19 while joining Lucas Hernández, Kingsley Coman, and Bouna Sarr who are all unavailable for selection through injury. Plzen is missing just Pavel Bucha through suspension (red card) but is still not expected to hold out against Jamal Musiala and company in what is a historically tough place to find a result. Bayern should be comfortable throughout.
Prediction: Bayern Munich 3-0 Viktoria Plzen
