BBC Sport have secured a new five-year contract to broadcast the Women’s Super League (WSL), extending its coverage through the 2029-2030 season.
Under this agreement, BBC will air 21 top-tier WSL games each season. Beginning with the 2025-26 season, 14 of these games will be exclusive to BBC television, while seven more will be available across BBC iPlayer and other digital platforms.
In addition to television coverage, some WSL matches will be accessible via BBC Radio 5 Live, BBC Sounds, and various local BBC radio stations.
Highlights, goals, and clips from every WSL fixture will be provided on the BBC Sport website, app, and social media channels.
This broadcast deal ensures that Sky Sports will also continue to televise WSL matches.
Alex Kay-Jelski, Director of BBC Sport, said: “It’s great to see the WSL growing and growing and I’m delighted that the BBC is carrying on as a partner on that journey.
Another five years of WSL on the BBC! 🙌

“We remain the most-used sports broadcaster in the UK, providing unparalleled cross-platform coverage, so it’s brilliant to be able to continue bringing the WSL to audiences as part of our free-to-air portfolio.”
Nikki Doucet, Chief Executive of Women’s Professional Leagues Limited (WPLL), shared her enthusiasm, adding: “Agreeing the next cycle of broadcast rights was a priority for us, and we are very fortunate to have two premium broadcast partners in Sky Sports and the BBC who believe in the future and value of women’s football as much as we do.
“The growth of the game is undeniable, and this deal is another step in the right direction and positive news for the fans, the players, and the clubs.”
Under the terms of the deal, Sky will have exclusive rights to broadcast 78 WSL matches.
Additionally, 34 matches will be available on WPLL’s official YouTube channel.
Sky’s agreement also includes the option to broadcast matches from the Women’s Championship and Women’s League Cup, expanding their coverage of women’s football in England.
