Bernardo Silva has once again fuelled speculation that he may leave Manchester City this summer following their historic treble success on Saturday night, admitting that he doesn’t know what next season will hold for him.

The Portuguese midfielder is one of the most relied-upon players by manager Pep Guardiola, with the 28-year-old having played 90 minutes in each of Manchester City’s knockout games on their way to lifting the trophy.

Despite being a regular for the best side in world football, however, Silva hasn’t looked entirely comfortable in Manchester and has been linked with a move away for each of the last two summer transfer windows.

Barcelona have been the side mostly linked with a move for the midfielder, but Paris Saint Germain have also been credited with an interest and, with Silva out of contract in 2025 as things stand, City may decide that this is the summer to cash in on the midfielder should he refuse to extend his time at the Etihad.

In the hours following their Champions League success, Silva refused to confirm that he would be a City player next season, suggesting he remains open to a move away from Guardiola’s side despite their success.

My future? Honestly… I don’t know. We will see what will happen in the next few weeks and the next few months”, he explained to Telefoot.

Having been unable to re-sign Lionel Messi due to financial restraints, it is unclear whether Barcelona would be able to find the sort of fee that would tempt City into selling Silva, despite his seeming desire to make the Camp Nou switch before the end of his career.
