Liverpool headed into the game having now won two in a row following a dismal start to their 2022/23 season.
Everton, meanwhile, kicked off down in 17th place and still searching for their first clean sheet of the season.
So far Liverpool have had more possession than Everton, but neither side has looked especially dominant.
The Toffees’ biggest threat has come from Anthony Gordon, who was linked with Chelsea for much of the summer transfer window.
As for Liverpool, they are relying on crosses from Trent Alexander-Arnold to eke out chances as Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez – who returned to the XI after his three-match suspension – have not seen much of the ball.
The Reds’ left-hand side also looks fairly weak, which is likely because Kostas Tsimikas is starting at left-back over Andy Robertson.
Get tsimikas off this football pitch immediately 🤷♂️
