Brentford head coach Thomas Frank has, late this evening, provided an update on the wellbeing of star striker Ivan Toney.
Hitman Toney, of course, saw his name take centre stage in the headlines on Friday evening.
This came owing to his exploits in Brentford’s final Premier League outing of the calendar year.
En route to a 2-0 triumph over West Ham at the London Stadium, the 26-year-old bagged both a goal and an assist, amid a fine all-round showing.
Ivan Toney now has 12 Premier League goals this season in just 16 games. Only Erling Haaland (20) and Harry Kane (13) have more.

As alluded to above, though, an otherwise fine night’s work for both Brentford and Toney on Friday was soured considerably late on.
This came upon the Bees’ top goalscorer being forced into a premature departure from proceedings.
After being seen to by the Brentford medical staff, it was subsequently decided that the former Newcastle United man was in no fit state to continue, culminating in Toney being stretchered from the field of play.
In turn, speaking post-match, the subject of his attacking spearhead’s fitness was put to Thomas Frank.
And the Danish tactician went on to reveal his hope that the issue will prove to be ‘nothing serious’:
‘He had some pain, hopefully nothing serious. It is something with the knee, we hope it is nothing serious.’#BrentfordFC #Toney pic.twitter.com/nI5eUBPRVv
