Bruno Fernandes has responded to Manchester United fans chanting ‘you’re not fit to wear the shirt’ during the club’s latest loss.

Manchester United faced Brighton on Saturday evening, looking to build on their 3-0 win over Brentford earlier this week.

However, the Red Devils put on one of their worst displays of the campaign, losing 4-0 vs the Seagulls.

This resulted in the aforementioned chant, which Fernandes has since responded to:

“The result is what it is. It is not good enough,” Fernandes admitted to Sky Sports after the final whistle. “They outplayed us. They always had a solution. Pressed us better and they deserved the result.

“A little bit of everything [went wrong]. Quality. Mentality. They deserved to win and we deserve to be in the position we are in now.

“When asked about the fans’ chant he stated: “I include myself in that. What we did today, what I did today, was not enough to be in a Man Utd shirt and I accept it.”

Manchester United to miss out on Europa League?

The result leaves Manchester United 6th in the Premier League with just one game left to play.

However, there is now a real chance they do not even secure Europa League football for next season.

West Ham are currently 7th in the Premier League, three points adrift of Manchester United. However, the Hammers do have a game in hand and goal difference, meaning they could take 6th place if they win their remaining three ties.
