Manchester United faced off with Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon and came away with a 3-1 win.
Arsenal were arguably the better side across the 90, but United’s ability to break, combined with Arsenal’s Gung ho approach after the Red Devils’ second goal, allowed the Manchester outfit to come away with a 3-1 win.
New signing Antony opened the scoring for the Red Devils, before Marcus Rashford went on to net a brace.
With Cristiano Ronaldo not fitting into Erik ten Hag’s system and Anthony Martial having injury issues, it has fallen to Rashford to take up the role of United’s centre-forward.
The Englishman has had a mixed stint whilst playing up top. But whilst he did not look at his best vs Arsenal, he was still able to score two goals, in part due to the superb passing of Christian Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes.
The midfield pair were instrumental in United hitting Arsenal on the counter several times, with Fernandes providing the assist for Rashford’s first of the day.
“I have told Marcus (Rashford) I don’t care if I miss 10 passes, focus of receiving the right pass, if the next one is right, I know you’ll score, let the blame be on me,” he said.
