Both sides headed into the match having won their opening Euro 2024 qualifier.
Spain saw off Norway whilst Scotland beat Cyprus last week.
In this game, though, the majority of fans were backing Spain to roll over Scotland with relative ease.
But when all was said and done at Hampden Park, Scotland ran out 2-0 winners on the day.
Scotland had just 25 per cent possession and three shots on target. However, a Scott McTominay brace saw the home side secure a massive three points on the day.
The Manchester United man has now scored braces in back-to-back matches for his country and his international form has caught the eye of Manchester United teammate, Bruno Fernandes.
One Manchester-based player was not quite as happy when the final whistle went on Tuesday evening, though.
Rodri faced off with McTominay on Tuesday and labelled Scotland’s playing style as ‘rubbish’:
“It’s the way they play – for me it’s a bit rubbish. It’s always wasting time, they provoke you, they always fall. For me, this is not football,” he said.
“The referee has to take a part in this but he said nothing. It’s a bit frustrating because we want to win and it’s difficult because they waste time, waste time. It is what it is. They have their weapons, we have our weapons, and we will learn for next time.”
Scotland will now remain top of their qualifying group until at least June.
