Match report
The fine start to the campaign being enjoyed by Tottenham Hotspur continued on Saturday, en route to a dominant victory over Burnley.
Ange Postecoglou’s troops made the trip to Turf Moor a short time ago, hopeful of making it a trio of successive Premier League victories.
And, when all was said and done, this is precisely what Spurs managed, in some style.
It was actually hosts Burnley who opened the scoring in proceedings, upon Lyle Foster finding the net within five minutes.
From here, however, the visitors took firm control, levelling things up through Son Heung-min, before taking the lead on the stroke of the interval courtesy of a stunning strike on the part of stopper Cristian Romero:

A further strike from James Maddison put Tottenham all but out of sight ten minutes into the 2nd-half, but there was still time for captain fantastic Son to add some real gloss to the scoreline.
Burnley did manage to reduce the damage late on by way of Josh Brownhill, but the damage had long been done, as Postecoglou’s Spurs climbed into 2nd in the Premier League table.

Maddison is dangerous from so many different zones. He can be involved in deep build-up zones. He is best between the lines. His goal vs Bournemouth was from a run in-behind. The 2nd Spurs goal vs Burnley shows that he can even beat full-backs both ways. What a player, what a buy. pic.twitter.com/7IB0wnujpw

That Maddison performance is one of the best I’ve seen at Spurs for a very long time.
His weight of pass is pin point every time. Decisive in the final third, plays passes before defenders can even think.
Absolute game changing signing. pic.twitter.com/oKWGNKf3rJ

18 – Since his first season in the Premier League (2018-19), no player has scored more goals from outside the box in the competition than James Maddison (18, level with James Ward-Prowse). Longbow.
