Cameroon and Serbia headed into Monday’s game after disappointing starts to their World Cup campaigns.
Cameroon lost to Switzerland and Serbia lost to Brazil in match week 1. As a result, both sides knew a loss on Monday would likely put an end to their World Cup dreams this winter.
And when all was said and done, the points were shared.
Serbia hit the post 10 minutes in after Mitrovic cut inside and sat a Cameroon defender down before smashing his effort at the woodwork.
The Fulham man then blasted an effort wide six minutes later even though he was unmarked in the box.
How has Mitrovic not scored here??? 😬

Yet despite Serbia dominating the first 45, it was Cameroon who took the lead 28 minutes in. The ball was flicked to the back post from a corner and Jean-Charles Castelletto tapped into an open goal.
And in the third minute of added time, Milinkovic-Savic picked up the ball on the edge of the box and place his effort into the bottom corner.
Serbia continued their onslaught into the second half with Mitrovic finally getting his goal.
Vincent Aboubakar came off the bench and pulled one back for the African outfit 63 minutes in with a lovely chip. And just minutes later, Cameroon were back level, with Aboubakar this time laying off Eric Choupo-Moting.
Serbia could have won the match in injury time but Mitrovic’s effort was saved.
What an opportunity! 😦
