Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has, on Friday, spoken out over claims that the club are expressing an interest in Celta Vigo starlet Gabri Veiga.
For those not aware, the name of youngster Veiga has taken its place front and centre in the Spanish football chatter across the season to date.
This comes with the 20-year-old in the midst of a breakout campaign.
All told, across Celta’s 32 La Liga outings to date, Veiga has been afforded appearances in all but two.
Not only that, but, from his berth in the middle of the park, the Spanish youth international has racked up a head-turning haul of nine goals and four assists.

With such stellar production, though, comes inevitable outside interest.
Speaking to the media on Friday, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of a potential Real swoop for the midfield prodigy was put to Blancos boss Carlo Ancelotti.
And though he refused to confirm that as much is in the pipeline, the Italian tactician was keen to lavish praise on Veiga, in explaining:
“I like Gabri Veiga, he’s a good player — he has quality.”
