Celtic boss Postecoglou responds to Tottenham links

Celtic head coach Ange Postecoglou has, on Saturday evening, spoken out over suggestions that he has been identified as a managerial target on the part of Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur.

For those who may have missed it, the last 24 hours have seen the name of tactician Postecoglou take its place front and centre in the headlines on the Lilywhite half of north London.

This comes amid suggestions that, after being rejected by both Julian Nagelsmann and Arne Slot, the Australian has been earmarked by Daniel Levy as the latest potential successor to interim Spurs boss Ryan Mason.

Just as soon as such claims began to surface, however, so too did reports that Postecoglou had opted to rebuff the advances of the powers that be at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Speaking to the media on the back of his side’s 5-0 drubbing of Aberdeen on Saturday, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of a potential move to Spurs was put to Celtic’s beloved headmaster.

And though Postecoglou was quick to assure that he remains firmly focused on the job at hand ahead of a Scottish Cup final showdown with Inverness next month, the 57-year-old stopped short of committing his long-term future to Celtic, in responding:
