Before that, though, there was plenty of action across the league. Here is everything you need to know about gameweek 6 of this season’s Championship.
Championship round-up gameweek 6
The latest Championship action kicked off on Friday evening when Luton Town played host to an in-form Sheffield United. Despite Luton looking set for a midtable finish and Sheffield United firmly in the promotion picture, the Blades were held to a 1-1 draw on the evening.
Saturday then saw Norwich and Sunderland battle it out in the day’s early kick-off. Norwich had a poor start to 2022/23 but have since kicked on and climbed up to 4th in the division. Their latest win came vs the North East outfit. Joshua Sargent opened the scoring in the 76th minute and that was enough to hand Dean Smith and co. the win.
The remaining 10 Championship games of the weekend all took place at 3 pm on Saturday.
Amongst the more notable games of the weekend, Middlesbrough finally picked up their first win of the season by beating Swansea. This means Coventry, who were actually able to play this weekend as they were away from home, are the only side left in the division without a win – they lost 3-2 vs Hull.
Elsewhere, Burnley smashed Wigan 5-1 as Vincent Kompany continues to transform the Clarets from a dull defensive unit into a progressive, possession-based side.
