Premier League giants Chelsea have, on Friday, been afforded a major boost on the personnel front.
This comes after a key member of the defensive ranks at Stamford Bridge reached a full agreement on the terms of a new contract.
The player set to stay put in west London? Thiago Silva.
Brazilian international Silva, of course, has continued to shine at the heart of Chelsea’s backline across the season to date.
Despite now being 38, the former AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain standout continues to act as one of the first names on the team sheet of boss Graham Potter.
This comes as Silva year after year manages to defy the laws of aging, with many of a Blues persuasion actually of the opinion that he has stood head and shoulders above his teammates as the club’s best performer across the season to date.

As per a report from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, ahead of the expiration of his current contract in the summer, the powers that be at Stamford Bridge have reached a ‘full verbal agreement’ to tie Silva down for another year.
Official announcement of the renewal, in turn, is expected imminently.
