Chelsea head coach Frank Lampard has, on Friday, provided an update on the situation of star midfielder Enzo Fernandez.
For those not aware, the name of Argentine international Fernandez has taken its place front and centre in the headlines in west London over the last 24 hours.
This comes amid suggestions that the former Benfica man, just months on from putting put pen to paper on a long-term contract at Stamford Bridge, has seen his terms extended for an additional season.
According to Argentine journalist Cesar Luis Merlo, Fernandez is now locked down all the way through the summer of 2032.

Since linking up with Chelsea, Fernandez has of course gone on to establish himself as one of the first names on the Blues’ team sheet.
Under the watch of new boss Frank Lampard, meanwhile, he has featured from the off in both outings, versus Wolverhampton Wanderers and Real Madrid.
The interim Blues boss, however, was not shy in admitting that he simply ‘doesn’t know’, before hailing Fernandez as ‘a fantastic player for this club’:
Frank Lampard: “I can’t confirm Enzo Fernández contract extension because I don’t know. He’s a fantastic player for this club”. 🔵 #CFC
