The powers that be at Premier League outfit Chelsea are readying themselves for a late-window approach from capital rivals Tottenham Hotspur, according to reports.
The player at the centre of the Lilywhites’ predicted swoop? Conor Gallagher.
As per a report from the reliable Matt Law of the Daily Telegraph, the Spurs brass have identified midfielder Gallagher as a potential last-minute signing, ahead of Friday’s transfer deadline.
This comes with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg expected to seal an exit from north London, amid interest from both Fulham and Atletico Madrid.

In their search for a potential replacement, Gallagher, in turn, has been earmarked as the ideal addition to Ange Postecoglou’s ranks in the middle of the park.
It remains to be seen, however, whether Chelsea would be open to dealing with a direct capital rival, so late in the market.
Crucially, he also appears to have gained the trust of not only new headmaster Mauricio Pochettino, but the Chelsea faithful, too.
It is therefore thought that an offer in excess of £45 million would be required for Todd Boehly and co. to even take a sale into consideration.
