Chelsea are reconsidering a potential swap deal that would see Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic head to west London with Romelu Lukaku heading the other way after it emerged that this could prove the only way to offload Lukaku this summer.

Long-linked with a move to Inter Milan, the Nerrazzuri pulled out of negotiations when it emerged that Lukaku had also been discussing a move with Serie A rivals Juventus.

However, Juve were only willing to sign Lukaku should Vlahovic depart amid interest from Paris Saint Germain, only for that interest not to materialise into any concrete offers.

Now, a solution could be found via a swap deal.

As per The London Evening Standard, ‘Chelsea have been offered Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic in exchange for Romelu Lukaku and a transfer fee’, though it is unclear what Juventus value their young attacker at.

It is added that ‘Chelsea are hesitant over a deal which also requires them to pay a significant fee’, with the Blues having already spent over £500m in the past 12 months and being asked to shell out a further £100m for top target Moises Caicedo this summer.

However, his time with Juventus hasn’t worked out, with just 23 goals in 63 appearances for the Old Lady.

Chelsea meanwhile have already signed Nicolas Jackson, who has found the back of the net on a regular basis in pre-season to date, but are thought to be weighing up whether to bring in a more senior option to help lead the line, a move that would put significant doubt over Armando Broja’s long-term future in west London.
