A fresh insight into the future of Chelsea star Mason Mount has been provided late on Saturday evening.
And the news will no doubt come as a source of concern for those hopeful of seeing the England international prolong his stay in west London for the long-term.
Mount, of course, has continued to play a key role for Chelsea across the season to date.
Under the combined watch of Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter, the midfielder has been afforded starts in all but one of the Blues’ 14 Premier League outings.
The latest of these came earlier today, when Mount was subjected to heavy criticism for his role in an eventual 1-0 defeat at the hands of Newcastle United.

And such woes come with concern brewing behind the scenes at Stamford Bridge, too.
Discussions between the two parties are understood to have been ongoing since the summer, but no resolution is in sight.
This comes with Mount’s current deal due to expire in the summer of 2023.
Chelsea, for their part, remain hopeful of the club’s Cobham academy product ultimately penning new terms, but contingency plans in the case of the opposite coming to fruition are already being put in place.
Both AS Roma star Lorenzo Pellegrini, and Villarreal’s Yeremy Pino, it is said, are being actively monitored by the Pensioners.
