Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has boldly predicted that his side are going to win 3-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu, just hours before the two sides meet.
Boehly took over the club in May 2022, and has overseen massive change in his short 12 month stint at the helm. Among the players, there have been 18 new arrivals, costing the club over £500m and breaking the British transfer record, while there have also now been three managers at the helm following Frank Lampard’s appointment.
It hasn’t worked out yet, though, with the Blues sitting 11th in the Premier League and having won just one of their last five games.
Resigned to no European football next season via a Premier League finish this season, winning the Champions League would be their only avenue into the competition next year, but they face Real Madrid for the third time in three seasons.
That hasn’t worried Boehly however, who gave a definitive answer when asked about what he thought would happen in the first leg in Madrid.
“Chelsea are gonna win 3-0 tonight. I tell the fans: have a lot of faith”, he told reporters in the Spanish capital.
“We look at this as a long term process, we have a lot of work to do. We’ve lot of faith about the future. Our future is bright”. he added.

With Potter now departed, the Blues are looking for a new permanent boss to take over their project, but will be hoping for a miracle from interim boss Lampard in the weeks to come, in a bid to rescue their season.
