A member of the attacking ranks at Premier League giants Chelsea is closing on a loan move away from the club, it has been revealed.
The player in question? David Datro Fofana.
Hitman Fofana, of course, only made the move to Stamford Bridge this past January, on the back of a fine stint in Norway with Molde.
Still just 20 years of age, though, first-team action proved predictably difficult to come by for the Ivorian international.
All told, Fofana was afforded a grand total of three Premier League appearances, just one of which came in the form of a start.
With the powers that be in west London having since secured further attacking reinforcements in the form of Nico Jackson, and Christopher Nkunku’s long-awaited arrival also imminent, it should therefore come as little surprise to hear of Fofana being prepped for a spell away from England’s capital.
This comes with Chelsea locked in the ‘final stages of negotiations’ with their counterparts at high-flying Bundesliga outfit Union Berlin.
A deal, in turn, is expected to be announced over the coming days, with Fofana primed to join Leeds United’s Brenden Aaronson in swapping England for the Stadion An der Alten Försterei for the 2023/24 campaign.
