Chelsea have been warned that it will cost them over 120m euros should they wish to sign AC Milan star Mike Maignan this summer amid reported interest from the Blues in the France no.1.

Chelsea are keen to upgrade their own options in goal this summer if possible. Kepa Arrizabalaga replaced Edouard Mendy in the second part of the season, but there is a feeling that both could depart this summer should offers come in, with neither shot-stopper inspiring confidence in what was underwhelming campaign for the Blues.

They have been linked to Brentford shot-stopper David Raya who is set to leave the Bees this summer, as well as Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana in recent days.

They have also made enquiries across Milan at AC Milan, with Mike Maignan one of those on their shortlist of goalkeeper options this summer.

Linked with the Frenchman before he left Ligue 1 to join the Rossoneri, Chelsea are thought to still hold an interest and Maignan has continued to prove his worth several times over to the Italian side.

Injured for the 2022 World Cup, he kept 8 clean sheets in 22 Serie A appearances and made some excellent saves despite a disappointing collective season for the Rossoneri.

He won’t come cheap though. According to reports coming out of Italy, AC Milan value the 27-year-old at an astonishing 120m euros, over twice what Chelsea indicated that they were willing to pay for the Frenchman.

With that in mind, the Blues are likely to look elsewhere with plenty of other additions needed and only a finite budget following their £500m spree in the last two transfer windows.

Though they expect to recoup big fees for the likes of Mason Mount, Ian Maatsen, Mateo Kovacic and even potentially Trevoh Chalobah, 120m may prove too much even for Todd Boehly to countenance.
