An altogether concerning update on the wellbeing of Arsenal star William Saliba has come to the fore late on Saturday evening.
Stopper Saliba, of course, set pulses racing across the Gunners’ fanbase in midweek.
This came upon the French international, now one of the first names on the team sheet of head coach Mikel Arteta, being forced into an early departure from the club’s Europa League 2nd-leg meeting with Portuguese giants Sporting CP.
En route to an eventual exit from the competition by way of a penalty shootout, Saliba lasted just 20 minutes, before limping off with what appeared to be a back problem.
Oh wow. Saliba limping off. Holding coming on.

The Arsenal faithful, in turn, had since been left to sweat, ahead of their side’s final pre-international break outing against London rivals Crystal Palace on Sunday.
And, as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the media late this evening is anything to go by, then such concern was not at all unfounded.
This comes after medical tests carried out on Saturday revealed his back injury to be considerably worse than had been first thought.
