An imminent change of ownership at English giants Leeds United has been confirmed late on Friday evening.
This comes after Andrea Radrizzani finally agreed to part with his majority stake in the Yorkshire-based club.
A summer of change, of course, awaits at Elland Road.
Owing to the club’s relegation to The Championship, a personnel overhaul is imminent, from manager to players to, potentially, backroom staff, too.
And, evidently, the aforementioned Radrizzani in turn felt it the ideal moment to call time on his tumultuous stint at the helm at Leeds.
As per a report from the reliable Phil Hay of The Athletic, an agreement has been reached for the Whites’ owner to sell his majority stake to 49ers Enterprises.
Hay’s report adds:
‘Various individuals involved in 49ers Enterprises’ investment group will be required to pass the EFL’s Owners’ and Directors’ Test before the purchase goes through.
‘But confirmation that the US fund will acquire full control of Leeds from Radrizzani should free the club to start work on the football front and actively implement initial plans.’
