Craig Bellamy is set to be named as the new Wales manager, according to the BBC.
The 44-year-old emerged as a top candidate for the job following Rob Page’s dismissal after the Dragons failed to qualify for Euro 2024.
Bellamy, who was a pacey winger during his playing days, had been in temporary charge of Burnley following their relegation from the Premier League.
But Scott Parker was appointed to the Championship club this week and although he was keen to work with Bellamy, reports suggest he is keen on taking the Wales job.
The small details are still to be sorted, according to BBC Wales, but the man who has previously expressed his desire for the job looks set to finally get it.
Arsenal legend Thierry Henry, Georgia head coach Willy Sagnol and Oxford United boss Des Buckingham were all in the running.
