Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 17th league goal of the season and Sadio Mane added a late second as Al Nassr claimed a 2-0 win at struggling Al Wehda.

Portugal legend Ronaldo was in the right place to meet half-time substitute Angelo’s cross with a fine header to open the scoring.

Morad Mohammad Abdullah Khodari wasted a great chance to equalise for the hosts and it proved decisive as former Liverpool forward Mane then scored a penalty in the 10th added minute.

The match was delayed by an hour as the Al Nassr bus broke down and Ronaldo and his team-mates were flat in a poor first-half showing.

Victory has put Al Nassr third in the Saudi League, eight points off leaders Al Ittihad.

Former Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte lasted just 12 minutes before coming off with an injury and with Marcelo Brozovic out and Jhon Duran suspended, Al Nassr look stretched.
