Pablo Mari has taken to social media on Saturday, to send a heartfelt message to all associated with Premier League giants Arsenal.

For those who may have missed it, this comes after the Spaniard’s permanent departure from north London was made official.

Mari, of course, spent this past season out on loan.

After dropping ever further down the pecking order under the watch of Mikel Arteta owing to the return of William Saliba, the 29-year-old was shipped out to Serie A once more, on this occasion to line out for AC Monza.

Mari, in turn, went on to enjoy a positive stint in Italy, featuring from the off in 28 of his side’s 38 league outings, and playing a central role in their eventual top-flight survival.

It therefore did not come as a major surprise when word was forthcoming this week that Mari’s Monza switch had been made a permanent one.

‘Pablo Mari has joined AC Monza in a permanent transfer.

‘We thank Pablo for his contribution to the club and wish him and his family the best of health and happiness in their new chapter.’

The north Londoners were also sure to highlight their now former stopper’s ‘strength and courage’, after Mari was attacked and wounded in a supermarket in Milan last year.

And now, as alluded to above, the 29-year-old has responded.

In a post on his official Instagram account on Saturday, Mari bid a heartfelt farewell to all associated with Arsenal, confirming that the club will ‘always have a place in my heart’:

“As my contract with Arsenal comes to an end, I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you.”

“Thank you for giving me the opportunity to represent this great and historic club, for all the memories we lived together and for the support I always received. It has been an immense honour to wear the Arsenal jersey and win two titles with this club. The Gunners will always have a place in my heart!”
