A fresh insight into the ongoing efforts of Serie A giants Inter Milan to bring Romelu Lukaku back to the club has been provided on Friday evening.
Hitman Lukaku, of course, spent this past season at San Siro.
After being made available for transfer just a year on from his return to England with Chelsea, Inter swooped decisively, bringing the Belgian back to Italy on a season-long loan.
Lukaku, in turn, went on to endure something of a hit-and-miss term, racking up 14 goals and seven assists across 37 appearances in all competitions.
After looking close to his explosive best towards the season’s conclusion, though, the 30-year-old, it would appear, did enough to convince the powers that be at Inter of his readiness to contribute further next time out, too.

Negotiations, as a result, have been kicked back into gear between the respective boards at San Siro and Stamford Bridge.
The info comes courtesy of the reliable Matt Law of the Daily Telegraph, who has confirmed that Inter recently tabled a fresh loan proposal for Lukaku, worth £7 million.
The offer, however, was firmly knocked back by Todd Boehly and the Chelsea board.
This comes with the Blues understood to have made clear that their out-of-favour frontman will only be granted another departure in the case of a permanent bid arriving for his signature.
🚨 Inter have made a £7M loan offer for Romelu Lukaku and Chelsea have REJECTED it.
